2006 NFMC Convention
The Nebraska Federation of Music Clubs
2006 Convention was held at the Thompson Alumni Center at the University of
Nebraska at Omaha on June 24, 2006. In the morning session,
board chairmen gave their annual reports and passed on information to the
incoming board members. 15 people attended the salad buffet luncheon
which was catered by Brandeis Catering.
Following lunch, there
was an installation of officers’ ceremony. The new slate of officers
included: President Nancy Norris, Vice-President Bonnie Guinn, Secretary
Ashley Hassebroek Wegner and Treasurer Peggy Schlieker.
Phyllis Dunne distributed
copies of the 2006 by-law revisions and ballot to members for consideration.
Following a short meeting,
motivational speaker
Kathy Larsen gave a
workshop called “Bring out the Leader in You”. Members from Siouxland
were present to join in the festivities. All attendees participated
enthusiastically.

Immediate Past President.
2005 NFMC Convention
The Nebraska Federation of Music Clubs
2005 Convention was held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church on December 2, 2005.
Walter Noona,
composer and teacher, was the guest clinician. NFMC cosponsored the
event with Omaha Music Teachers Association. The day’s events included
a Masterclass and an Italian buffet luncheon catered by Brandeis
Catering. 40 people attended the workshop.

The Nebraska Federation of Music Clubs held its 2004 State Convention on
June 4 and 5 at the University of Nebraska’s Strauss Performing Arts
Center. Composer and teacher

The convention concluded with the NFMC State Junior Honors Recital.
