The Nebraska
Federation Scholarship Competition
The
Nebraska Federation of Music Clubs is proud to sponsor the Nebraska
Federation Scholarship Competition, a competition for piano students between
the ages of 16 and 25. Held in February or March, this competition is
designed to encourage dedicated and serious music students from
conservatories, colleges, universities and private studios.
In order to participate, the student’s piano teacher must be a member of the
Nebraska Federation of Music Clubs. Students
may enter the Junior Festival in the same year as the Nebraska Scholarship
Competition either as Juniors (through age 19) or as Adult Students.
Repertoire:
Contestants will perform solo works representing three
contrasting style periods. All pieces must be memorized. The
program should be 12-18 minutes in length.
Prizes:
First
Place: $300.00
Second Place: $150.00
Third
Place: $100.00
Winners are also invited to play at the State Honors Recital.
Deadline:
Six weeks prior to Competition.

National Student
Auditions
Piano (16-25) and Voice (18-25) students.
No
National Student Auditions will be held in Nebraska this year.
The Nebraska Federation of Music Clubs sometimes
holds National auditions for students between the ages of 16 and 25.
In order for students to enter, they must be members of the Federation
either through affiliation through a Federated College or University, as
Individual Members, or studying under a Federated teacher.
Students may not enter the
Junior Festival in the same year as the National Student Audition.
The National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC)
Biennial Student Awards are given in odd-numbered years to students who have
won in the State, District, and National auditions in one of the thirteen
classifications: Piano, organ, harp, classical guitar, man’s voice,
woman’s voice, violin, viola, violoncello, double bass, orchestral
woodwinds, orchestral brass, and percussion.
Student entrants must be in the following age
categories as of March 1 of the audition’s year:
Instrumental: 16 through 25 years
Voice: 18 through 25 years
